Local small businesses win national award
Member for North Sydney, Trent Zimmerman, congratulated two local businesses that took out a national business award over the weekend.
“By Dezign in Artarmon won the Home and Garden Improvement category, while Function Physio in Gladesville took out Physiotherapy category at the Small Business Champion Awards held over the weekend in Sydney,” Mr Zimmerman said.
“I congratulate all category winners and finalists and particularly acknowledge the hard work and success of the small business owners and their employees of By Dezign and Function Physio.
“Small business owners, operators and employees work hard, day in, day out; year in, year out, to grow their business, and they deserve to be recognised for this.
“These small business owners are often looking to innovate, support their families, expand to new export markets, and create new products and services.
“The Turnbull Government is determined to do our most to support and encourage small businesses across the country.
“Our support for small business so far includes small business tax cuts and tax discounts, a $20,000 instant asset write-off for small businesses, and establishing Australia’s first Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman,” Mr Zimmerman said.
Minister for Small Business and Assistant Treasurer Kelly O’Dwyer said the small businesses featured in the awards are some of Australia’s most innovative, creative and successful small businesses
“It is the hardworking 4.7 million Australians working in our more than 2 million small businesses that are the backbone of our economy,” Minister O’Dwyer said.
