NSW will be well led by our Gladys

Federal Member for North Sydney, Trent Zimmerman, has extended his congratulations to Gladys Berejiklian following her election as Leader of the NSW Liberal Party and Premier of NSW.

“Gladys will be an outstanding Premier as she has all the qualities of a great leader: determination, compassion, and genuine interest in good policy,” Mr Zimmerman said.

“Residents in our area have seen how hard Gladys has worked for our local community. She is a role model for me as a local MP and she has earned the trust and affection of voters in the Willoughby electorate.”

“She understands that the heart of good government is strong economic and financial management but that government must ensure everyone has the opportunity to benefit from economic growth.

“The two greatest successes of the Coalition government has been economic management and long overdue investment in infrastructure, particularly public transport.

“NSW was in the economic doldrums and our transport infrastructure was struggling to cope with our growing population when the Coalition was elected.

“As transport minister and, more recently, Treasurer, Gladys has been central to the government’s determination to fix these problems.

“I know that our local Australian-Armenian community will be particularly proud that Gladys has reached this milestone. They are rightly proud that the daughter of Armenian immigrants to Australia has become our state’s leader.

“I wish Gladys and her team well for the challenges that lie ahead. I have no doubt that she will earn the trust of the people of NSW as Premier in the same way she has garnered such strong support from our own local community.”
