SES volunteers recognised for major storm recovery support
Last night, the efforts of the North Sydney SES Unit were recognised in a special ceremony at their headquarters in Waverton.
Trent Zimmerman, Member for North Sydney, presented the volunteer unit with certificates of thanks for their work in the local community in responding to calls for help, as well as providing out of area support during four major storm events across NSW last year.
In April 2015, NSW SES received over 21,000 calls for assistance from the Hunter and northern regions of Sydney. This event resulted in the third largest response to a storm event in NSW.
The North Sydney SES members gave their time generously to help, supporting efforts in Gosford and Wyong, with some members relocating to the areas to provide continues support.
